If this happens, I doubt anyone would actually let this occur and would reload a save if it did. The only issue I have with these rules is that companions can permanently die. You must drink, eat, and sleep or face stat penalties and ultimately, deathĪs you can see, these changes will drastically change the way you play.Sleeping does not heal you unless you own the bed or you have a specific perk.Crippled limbs can only be cured from doctors or specific items (not stimpacks anymore).Doctor’s bags will now only partially heal all limbs instead of fully.

Radaway will now cure radiation over time.Stimpacks will now heal over time (instead of instantly).While you are at Doc’s office at the beginning of the game, you’ll be given an option to toggle Hardcore mode on. The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games are notorious for cheese tactics such as “save scumming”. To others, it adds another layer of strategy and prevents exploiting the system. To some, it only adds tedium to a fun open-world RPG. I’ll be the first to admit the Fallout: New Vegas Hardcore mode isn’t for everybody.
